Little Rockers at Downtown Performing Arts Center beginning in April
Little Rockers of Highlands, New Jersey will be bringing their exciting class to DPAC on Thursdays this spring. Hour long classes will be held at 10 am and 11 am on Thursdays beginning April 15 and continue for 8 consecutive weeks.
Little Rockers Tot Rock Program is a parent/child music development class for children newborn to 5 years. Whether or not you think you can sing, dance, or play an instrument you can participate in making music. This unique program, featuring a variety of popular and original rock n’ roll songs, along with well-known children’s favorites, will make the most out of your child’s early musical development.
Since children learn best while playing, going to music class can be the perfect opportunity for growth in early child development, but we want the adults to have fun too. So be prepared to hear a few songs you know and love. Try shaking your eggs to Santana, tapping your rhythm sticks to Bob Marley, or belting out a Beatles tune. Because you’re never too young or old to learn the classics!
The curriculum is designed to introduce children and adults to the world of music using group participation and directed performance, helping children to explore their creativity through movement and music. Simple instruments are introduced, such as egg shakers, rhythm sticks and bells. The basics of rhythm and melody are introduced through the use of popular and original songs that are easy to sing along to.
